Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been traveling down to Siesta Key every 5-10 years to take a vacation. The reason? My grandparents, who have now passed, owned a condo on the beach. Thankfully, that same condo is still in the family.
One of the things I love about Siesta Key is the white sand beaches. Growing up I didn’t know anything different. I thought every beach had soft white sand that squished up between your toes.
How wrong I was! I remember when my brother went down to Mexico for his honeymoon. He and I grew up together, so he was expecting white sand beaches.
Instead, he got rough brown beaches that were hard on the feet. In fact, he said you couldn’t even walk on the beaches down there without shoes.
That’s when I realized how special Siesta Key is. Their beaches are unlike any others in the entire world. In fact, in 2009, the web site Petrix.com ranked Siesta Beach as the #2 best beach in the entire U.S. (Hanalei Bay in Kauai, Hawaii got first place).
The beaches are essentially the same as I remember them, even though more than 20 years have passed. The only noticeable difference is that there are fewer seashells on the beach.
But other than that, it’s just as magical as it ever was.
The Siesta Key beaches, the sunsets, the relaxed atmosphere… it’s hard to beat.
And the condo makes it even better. It’s got two bedrooms, two baths, views of both pools, views of the beach, free wifi, a nice little kitchen — basically everything you’d need (and more!) to enjoy a week on the beach.
If you’re interested in checking the availability on our Siesta Key condo rental, fill out the form to the right. Thanks!
